Jimmy vs. Jimi (blues, funk, metal, reggae, rock)

I'd go for Hendrix. Page was technically fantastic, came up with great riffs, amazing stuff... but Hendrix just had this magic and uniqueness to the way he played, he had new ideas, new sounds. Jimmy Page comes as close as anybody else could, but Hendrix really was the daddy.

Thanks for putting up the two best for a face off though - not like a lot of similar threads where it would have been "who's the best guitarist, Cobain, Corgan, Noel Gallagher or Bryan Adams?..."

Yeah i thought about putting the guitarist from nickelback or linkin park or somethin on there just for laughs but i have no clue who they are nor do i care.

hendrix was great but he did one thing (blues/r&b rock) and did it wonderfully, page was great and did everything (reggae [sp?], rock, blues, funk, and so on) so my vote goes page. even though he was/is much sloppier than hendrix.

Hendrix (great player but it's funnily enough, I may not like his music but our songs are alot more blues.)
Page (Also NO denying: I HAVE a dvd of them and he is awesome but their music bore me to death)

It's only taste. I agree that they play like rock gods(I have of them both on dvd and they are awesome) BUT I just don't like the music, it wasn't very wise of me to get at them on here but I still said that I don't like their music because I just don't. I never said that I didn't think they were the tops of playing, only that they are not my taste and are clearly your's. I'm sorry if I said it harshly but how I say things now. So you if you are going to take this the wrong way
