never was it intimated that jimmy page sucks...plus i didn't realize justification was needed for opinion but....i think hendrix is/was head and shoulders above 'any' modern rock guitarist. he broke trail for everyone. no one before, nor since has had the impact on the electric guitar and how it's used in rock and roll like jimi hendrix.

i'll not belittle jimmy page or any other player. i happen to be a fan more for led zepp than page though. there's a bit of the supporting argument needed then. band vs. solo. outside the context of the band, will page's legacy endure as hendrix's has...and will no doubt continue to? i don't think so. hendrix will affect generations. without zeppelin, i don't think the same can be said of page.

Hendrix is extremly over-rated. it angers me.

yeah, the solo's are kind of my opinion there:afro: I like hendrix's use w/ the wah wah so much though!

why, so that you and misfitspunk can argue back and forth with me? Is this your only goal in life to start ****? Your pathetic. Anyways back on topic i agree that hendrix is overrated. The way I see it is: Great guitar player + Early death = #1. I would like to see what people would be sayin if page had an early death, and hendrix lasted as long as page in the band, I have a feeling it would totally be the other way around. Early death usually leads to much more recoginition, e.g. Cobain, Dimebag, etc.

Actually, it's very close.

I'm a huge Hendrix fan, but Jimmy Page is right up there with him.
