Page might have taken a little here and there from other artists, but it seems to me that most people are determined to say that he is a phony and a thief before they even listen to the songs he supposedly stole. The only song I think there is hard evidence for is Dazed and Confused, and honestly, I'm rather glad they stole it. It's one of my favorite Zeppelin tunes.

I went with Jimmy by the way, Hendrix has never really hit with me.

i agree, and they didnt really steal dazed and confused anyways. if you read my earlier post, they changed so much of that song from the original one they "stole", its not even funny. one song that they defienetely took probly the most from is dixon's you need love, which they made into whole lotta love, but come on, who can't appreciate the solo section in that song?, it still gives me chills

i agree with that exept i prefer pages soloing better, but i realize that's personal preference, i just think that live especially hendrix uses the tremelo a bit excessive at times, and i just like the versatility of pages solos so he wins in my opinion. i also enjoy the length of his solos when playing live. i realize as well that page may get more credit than hendrix for the fact he had on hell of a band backing him up, everyone was awesome at what they did, where hendrix had only 2 others that were good musicians but nowhere near jonesy, plant, and bonzo. i give credit where credit is due, and hendrix was one hell of a musician, but as for solely voting for best guitarist, i go for page.

If Page was in Hendrix's position, and Hendrix in Pages (Led Zep) but they kept their same styles.

Would you then argue Hendrix was better?

So you are saying that Page would be nowhere near as popular if werent for Led Zeppelin?

Well thats true, but then again, Led Zeppelin would have been nowhere without Jimmy Page.

I think you see where im going at here.

Both are awesome guitarists, and Hendrix was the more groundbreaking, being the first to emerge. I don't know who is better, but personally I prefer Page, he just has so many awesome styles.

Kashmir>Stairway>Achilles>Tea For One>Bring It On Home>Levee

You could go on...All so different.
