Should there be a prog forum on musicbanter? (Read First!) (metal, pop)

Yeah, but pink floyd arent even THAT progressive, im talking but the majority of prog bands, those who dont have the mainstream popularity that floyd does. Anyway, if kids have heard of emo but not prog, thats their problem. But at least 7 people have voted, so thats 7 people who would be interested, in a couple of days it could turn into 30 people and in a week who knows?...I will even get other people to regester simply for the purpose of posting on the prog forum. And i know A LOT of people who would be interested. Prog is more popular than you will ever know, sure you dont hear it on the radio or see prog bands on MTV but dammit they do exist, just because the media dosent give them blow jobs like they do some bands makes no difference, like i said before, there are many prog bands, 1,983 bands from all over the world listed in progarchives, and thats just a tip on the iceberg when it comes to how many prog bands there really are. Its a huge movement and its still very alive today in bands like Porcupine Tree, Mars Volta and Mostly Autumm...Also because of MV and bands like Muse, Tool and SOAD, prog has gotten more mainstream appeal than it has in recent years.

I didn't say it didn't have alot of bands and your right it isn't popular which is gonna be a problem people get bored of dicussing music with the same people everyday and it wont be much diffrence with the prog forum twill be the same group of people with an occasional new person it will die out due to lack of interest.

I will keep it alive, believe me, i have been mod for other forums before. And i know tons of people, and i know how to spread the word, and i will tell my friends to spread the word to their friends and their friends to spread the word to their friends and so on.

Ill speak on behalf of a Prog forum if you help me get a rock metal split. All's fair in love and war, but this is politics bitch and there are rules or morales here.

And where the hell did you say you thought my split was a good idea, you tried to sell me people thinking VH, GnR, and LZ were metal. Don't double back.

Regardless of such hypocracy, your idea has merit, as did mine, if you work with me to achive both ends, Ill push you alot closer to your prog forum.

When did i ever say your idea was a bad idea?, i never directly said weither i thought it was a good idea or not, i was being netural because i hadnt really made up my mind yet, all i talked about was the drawbacks and the questions it would raise, and even good ideas have those, you know that, i was being objective, no big deal...If you want to split rock and metal as badly as i want the prog forum, then sure i will help.

Heck I voted yes just becuase all the prog threads die in this forum. Swarmed by "Limp Bizkit vs Linkin park" threads, they never get a chance. For the few people who enjoy prog it can be fustrating to watch it drown in uninformative favouratism threads.
