The only influence I hear in their early stuff is maybe punk rock to tell you the truth. Other than that, they've always been 100% original AC/DC rock and roll. Unique unto themselves. I remember reading a quote from Angus Young once where he said: "People ask us why we don't try to 'progress' with each new album and try new things. That's stupid. Most bands who try to 'progress' end up progressing right up their a$$!" LOL. |

As for the punk influence, AC/DC were around at least a couple of years before what is known as punk reared its head in 1976 and had already established their sound. Even then the punk influence on AC/DC is not really that noticeable compared to some bands, for example Paul D`Anna era Iron Maiden has a distinctly punk sounding influence especially in the vocal delivery. |
It's gonna Rock! AC/DC Music Video!

Alright, I'm thinking of getting a few ACDC albums and was curious mostly to what is thought as the best year remaster to get.
I think there are three, 1990, 1994, and 2003. Someone told me that 94 is not remastered but was just a reissue, is that true? Also heard that 2003's were compressed to hell. Added question: what's your fav AcDc album? |
I think Let There Be Rock is their best release. Scott spits venom the whole record and many of Youngs best riffs are on here. While Youngs riffs are often boring, that is not the case for this album. They have power backing them up.

What do you guys think are the three best Brian Johnson era albums?
Two best Bon Scott era albums? |

best album is either Highway to Hell or Back in Black, depends who you like more, Brian or Bon |
I used to be a big fan but now I'm really over them. They don't sound as good as I thought.
