I think you took his post completely out of context here. He was commenting on stupid posts on other forums that berate AC/DC. Talking of stupid posts, talking like that to anyone here is bad enough but when that person is a moderator well then that's just plain idiocy.

FireInCairo 01-09-2009 04:12 AM

ACDC = dull

Guybrush 01-13-2009 03:17 AM

I like AC/DC and I think it's a great band. It's kinda hard for me not to like them, it's the sort of music that's been around my whole life. Besides, they've kicked a fair amount of ass.

Sasquatch_and_Fletch 02-27-2009 11:37 AM

If you like AC/DC and are looking for some new music that sounds like them, check out Airbourne they rock

pahuuuta 03-04-2009 01:05 PM

ac dc is a good band except for their new music, not to great

Grunge_Junkie 03-06-2009 11:07 AM

i like ac/dc but only when they had bon. and they sound pretty much the same in every song besides solos. solos are pretty good too.

ChiliColdBlood 03-10-2009 01:22 PM

Yeah, sure, the songs mostly sound the same. They're still a great band to see live. Even at this age. The dudes rock.

I think I like Rose Tattoo (another Aussie hard rock band) a bit better, though.

Freebase Dali 03-13-2009 10:56 PM

I never fully appreciated AC/DC until I began living in Germany and met this band called IC/DC which is an AC/DC tribute band.
All of them are German, and they play shows around Germany. I'd been in a band and they let us open for them in various pubs and we established a good rapport with them.
Great guys.
They're so professional, and I dunno how they do it, but they sound EXACTLY like AC/DC, down to the singer.
It's hard for me to distinguish the two beyond recording quality.

Out of all the tribute/cover bands I've ever heard/known... IC/DC is the best I've ever come across.

Search them. I got a demo from them after a show we played, but I'm still waiting for my shipment from Germany.

PinkCigarette 03-13-2009 10:57 PM

AD/DC Back in Black is friggin awesome.

Mojo 03-16-2009 07:22 PM

AC/DC are one of few bands where I know exactly what to expect from them but quite frankly couldn't give a toss because I'm probably gonna like it and I don't really find myself wanting anything else from them. I wouldn't have quite the same taste in music if it wasn't for AC/DC as their music helped mould it.

Were they better with Bon Scott? Yeah, probably but i think Brian Johnson gets a lot more stick than he deserves.

Brian and Bon are pretty close in sound (to me, anyways) that they seem the same anyways. Bon was bit more out there, though.

I don't think they have similar vocals. Brian's is more raspy and off-putting, Bon's goes with AC/DC's music alot better. That, and Brian's track record of good albums with AC/DC is like 1/10 while Bon's is like 7/10 :banghead:

AC/DC is pretty good, but their simplistic style can be grating after a couple songs

I actually agree with this but no one else ever seems to. I prefer Bon Scott and no two people are going to sound the SAME, especially when Bon Scott had such a distinctive voice but I think there are a lot of similarities between the two.

Guybrush 03-17-2009 08:23 AM

I don't really have anything against Brian. I think he's done a good job filling Bon's shoes. He joined the band just in time for the peak (Back in Black is the most sold album by any band, selling 42x platinum in 2003) sales-wise and after that, I think it was perhaps likely that the popularity and quality would lessen a bit. They were getting older, repeating the same stuff, possibly out of fashion etc. - it's the way it usually goes.

boo boo 06-16-2010 01:34 PM

That one they rewrote 500 times.

I'm sorry, if I didn't make that stupid f*cking joke somebody would have. :o:

Anyway, Shake a Leg.

My favorite incarnation of AC/DC is when Bon Scott was the singer.

That's a great typo.

Yeah Brian is underrated, I like his voice. And they had at least one great album with him, which I still consider the best AC/DC album.

:thumb: I didn't know people didn't like Brian. I love Scott, but later AC/DC is just as good, or maybe if not even better.

The thing that I do not like about Brian's voice is that it sometimes sounds like he is doing a parody of himself.

Mojo 06-16-2010 05:45 PM

A parody of himself? What does that mean?

What I mean is that it his worst, he sounds like he is overdoing his voice.

Mojo 06-17-2010 03:07 AM

You may have a point to an extent but have you ever heard the man talk?

Ilistentomusic 06-22-2010 09:55 AM

Believe it or not, one of their best albums is Powerage. Not many people know that.

Mojo 06-22-2010 04:10 PM

Ill agree with that. I have waited for years to see AC/DC and at Download they were as unnecessarily over the top and shamelessly rock and roll as i would have both expected and hoped they would be.

Mojo 06-22-2010 04:19 PM

Again that was unnecessary but i dont care, they have nothing left to prove in their old age and so can do whatever they want. Plus it allowed them to pimp it out exactly the way they wanted to and they certainly used that to their full advantage. And of course their mega expensive stage show didnt put the price of my ticket up so no complaints from me at all.

doc 06-26-2010 03:00 AM

the style of ac/dc is unique. very dynamic. no other band plays rock like they do. i don't mean they are the best technically but they never copied anyone but others tried to copy them here and there.

Early AC/DC sounded very much like a basic version of Led Zeppelin. Most bands have copied others to varying degrees.

Grimm08Phoenix 06-26-2010 11:01 AM

However simple they sound though and however much people moan "oh its the same chords,Oh Bon Scott was better than Brian" or the typical complaints we've all heard about them.
Theyre good at what they do.no,theyre GODS at what they did and still do.
and its the simpleness but perfection of it that makes it so incredible.

"Its a long way to the top if you wanna Rock'N'Roll"..
