Neil Peart is better hands down. Neil Peart is an awesome lyricist, he wrote a book, he has raw energy, and he can hit many different drums as he can hit in five seconds!
Out of the drummers of the early British Invasion: Charlie Watts > Ringo Starr > Dave Clark >>>>>>>>>> Keith Moon Out of the drummers of later British Invasion: Bonzo > Ginger Baker > Mitch Mitchell >>>>>>>>>> Keith Moon Out of the drummers of British Prog during the late 60's early 70's: Bill Bruford > Jim Capaldi > Phil Collins > Nick Mason >>>>>>>>>> Keith Moon I think a more even playing feild would be: Neil Peart vs Carmine Appice Keith Moon vs Slim Jim Phantom |

He actually wrote 2 books. Ghost Rider is an excellent read on a side note. Peart has an excellent mond and attitude on life in general. Which coupled with his ablilty and accomplishments, makes him an amazing figure.

nope, can't see Loony Moony = Bonzo Bonzo was the funkmaster of syncopation, he had a PhD in rhythym, man. He was the led in Led Zeppelin, when they talked about getting the "led out" they're talking about John Bonham's drumming - that's what they're talking about! What is Keith Moon appeal? It's him going crazy, flailing away at his toms, and busting up his drum kit - it's his shtick. But on the other hand, Neil Peart is a awesome technician, a league in his own. Jim Capaldi is always underrated, maybe because Traffic isn't as mainstream as the Who or Rush, maybe because he had a small kit, but he done more with that small kit then most drummers can do with a large kit. |

Bonham had more skill and range, which didn't prevent him from having a lot of energy, so you're probably right about Bonzo being better.
Still, you have to really have it out against Moon if you consider Charlie Watts and Nick Mason to be better drummers. Nick Mason over Keith Moon? That's insane. |
