Wrong.

That's writing off a whole lot of music and countless genres, it's just as ignorant as saying all simple repetitive music is bad.

Peart by a long shot, a lot of Moon's live work and some studio stuff can be more entertaining than Pert's. And he was most certainly groundbreaking, but for who I enjoy the most it has to be Neil Peart.

1. I was being facetious.

2. I was responding to all those people who love Peart because he's so meticulous and technical. It's about how it sounds people, not about how it's written on paper.

I love the who, but the drumming has never seemed like a big factor to me. I gotta go with Pert.

But Peart has one of the best grooves, he's not doing blast beats or anything. He's not playing away from the rest of the band. He's just the best at what he does, tastefully playing progressive rock. You don't a lot of people doing that in the prog genre, so it's something to be admired. Chaulking Neil Peart up as just another technical prog drummer is foolish.

I like Pert too, expecially the dandruff control, easily my favorite shampoo by a long shot.

Oh yeah, he's great and everything, but I can't appreciate him as much as Keith Moon because he has no real raw energy, and it pisses me off when people value how many different drums you can hit in five seconds over Keith Moon's unique and frantic style of drumming.

I can think of several songs where Peart plays with a lot of energy.

I'm tired of people making the misconception that just because someone is playing competently, it means they lack passion and energy.
