Just as well really , It would have added exactly nothing to The Who's music if he had.

That's not what I would call a convincing arguement. Is there any documented proof that little green men aren't secretly controlling the world?

Bit it's certainly a point in Peart's favor for live shows.

But it's not just listening, it's being there. Intensity.

Not really sure how dying the cliche rock & roll death can be seen as cool. Bit boring really. The fact that I can't stand rush may have swayed my vote on this poll. Keith Moon for me.

I saw The Who in 1971 in Cleveland, Ohio. I am 55 and lived through the British Invasion of the US. Missed the Beatles, Doors and Cream. The Who concert in 71 was by far the best I had ever seen. Moon, while not doing the solos that Perth and Bonthem were known for doing, was by far the best. Crazy, but a genious drummer as well. We will never see the likes of him until his talent is reincarnated. He soloed thoughout the entire gig.

Wow, I can't believe someone dug up this old thread. Anyway, Neil Peart gets my vote no contest, he's miles ahead of any other rock drummers. Keith Moon is great, but not worthy competition of the professor.
