Peart. I'm not a huge Rush fan by any means.

Fuck, how is this thread still open. Its seriously no competition...Neil Peart is by far the superior drummer. His technical ability would literally punch Keith Moon right in the mouth.

I'm simply intelligent and mature enough to realize that people have their own primarily emotion-based opinions about certain musicians. People can argue back and forth for hours about who is better, but in the end nobody's mind will be changed. Nothing will be proven either way, and it usually just ends up in hard feelings. Unlike you, I won't waste my time trying to prove something that can't really be proven, and I'm certainly not going to smash my head against a desk over it. I'm not a fence rider, I have my personal opinion as to who is better--Neil Peart. Nobody can accuse me of having that opinion simply because they think I'm a Rush fanboy--because I actually prefer the Who's whole body of music over that of Rush. I'm just not going to waste my time by getting all huffy-puffy and arguing about it. And your above post proves you're as condescending as anybody at Music Banter. Sorry you feel the need to make personal attacks on people you don't even know.

Judging by the entire musical catalog of both groups, I prefer the Who over Rush. However, I agree Peart is the better drummer.

Most people here wouldn't be able to make a good judgement here because, conveniently enough, most people here seem to belong to the anti-prog music brigade.

I understand that. Perhaps I didn't word my previous post as well as I could have.

My guess would be it's disliked in some circles because it's not generally "rock out" music with blazing lead guitars.

Of course the people who voted for Keith Moon or prefer the Who to Rush are doing so because they hate prog & can't look at something objectively.
