For no apprent reason? Your intelligence? Do you honestly think posting "page sucks" really helped anything, and btw thats a direct slap to anyone who voted page.

Don't think any one buys you being the victim. There is a reason, a justifiable one, and I hope that every time you write something so counterproductive you get flammed.

i reckon townshend was a great guitarist

although page stuck mainly with blues based solos, townshend integrated elements of jazz and even some baroque into his solos and playing

check out some of the solos on the live at the albert hall concert and listen to stuff like music must change from Who Are You and helpless dancer from quadrophenia

townshend was a genius

Page solo's varied quite a lot. Look at the difference between Whole Lotta Love, Achilles Last Stand and Stairway for example. Except the odd later song like Tea For One, most of the blues solos were on the earlier albums. Later on Page was much more experimental. III is mainly acoustic, IV is varied, Physical Grafitti is quite heavy/rocky, Presence is quite a varied album, as is In Through The Out Door. As for riffs he was a monster, almost every LZ song has a distinct riff

I love both the who and zep. Commenting on the discusiion about led zep not releasing singles, they were constantly bugged by theyre record label to release singles but always refused. this is because plant believed that an album showed the true scope and feeling of what they were doing at that particular time and each album conveyed a different message. They were forced to release Whole lotta love by theyre record label as a single in america and that was a huge success. As soon as they got theyre own label they only released albums. THe Who released singles all the time. Imagine if Stairway to heaven or Achilles Last Stand was released as a single. It would have been just as much a success as the singles released by the who. I think seeing the who live is much better than just listening to them cause in the studio you don't see the drama. Zep were also amazing on stage, the co ordination and feeling that page and plant conveyed was mind blowing. Even watching them on DVD i can't help banging my fist to the beat. I haven't seen as much of the Who as i would Like but they were amazing performers and theyre presentation of the music added a lot to the value of the songs they play.
