Best thing about British bands in the 90s was that there wasn't one standout band , there were loads of them.
Even the lesser bands of the time put out quality albums. Bands like Elastica , Strangelove , Ultrasound , Laika , Urusei Yatsura & The Telstar Ponies would never be considered the greatest of bands but i'd swap the lot of them for the shit that passes for British rock music now.

I don't even have their debut I used to have it on cassette but it seems to have gotten lost. Big props to The Curve and Ride too.

I'm not sure Massive Attack should qualify for this list seeing as they released material in the 80s ("Any Love" single - 1988).
Me, I choose Supergrass.

Lots of the best bands in the 90s formed in the 80s.
It should be about when you did something memorable not about when you formed. Pulp formed in 1977 , I don't see why that should exclude them.
