Most of my favourite 90s bands happen to be American, but since I have to choose I'll go with My Bloody Valentine, because their one 90s record is fantastic and to many, life changing, and maybe Portishead, because they're not a popular choice around here : P

Best thing about British bands in the 90s was that there wasn't one standout band , there were loads of them.
Even the lesser bands of the time put out quality albums. Bands like Elastica , Strangelove , Ultrasound , Laika , Urusei Yatsura & The Telstar Ponies would never be considered the greatest of bands but i'd swap the lot of them for the shit that passes for British rock music now.
