Jane's Addiction.

Anyone like?

My fav songs are 'just because' and 'been caught steeling'

mmh. Yeah. Discuss.

Urban Hat€monger ? 09-06-2005 02:24 PM

They`re very very good.

Or at least they were. I didn`t like strays much it was too 'ROCK' for my liking

ArtistInTheAmbulance 09-06-2005 02:31 PM

Why the hell dont I see the big attraction with this band?

I know many a people who are quite obsessive about em, but.. Meh. I must have heard all the wrong things. Whats the best album for me to be checking out? I badly want to see what everyone else sees. Or hear what everyone else hears, I guess.

sleepy jack 09-06-2005 02:32 PM

I hate them.

FunkyFish 09-08-2005 10:10 AM

I've never really liked them but i do think just because is quite good

boo boo 09-08-2005 10:28 AM

I like em a lot.

Fenixpunk 09-08-2005 11:54 AM

one of the best shows ive ever seen. Ritual is my favorite album from them.

SATCHMO 09-08-2005 12:58 PM

Nothing Shocking and s/t are there best. I think Ritual is overhyped I like 3 Days (i think that's the name of it) off of ritual, but that's about it. Been Caught Stealing is in my top 10 for annoying songs.

EDGE 09-08-2005 01:25 PM

The vocals are tight, yo.

for real.

adidasss 11-15-2005 05:52 AM

well i've downloaded ritual de lo habitual and it sucks ass, the only song i sorta liked is been caught steelin....his voice is....annoying, it's like he's constipated or something....and the music ain't so hot either, based on just because i thought their earlier stuff would be better, more funky , more massive, instead it's just weak.....

This is coming from a guy who likes Interpol, Creed and Jimiroqui. :finger:

antman188 11-15-2005 10:04 AM

Creed? Creed!? Why, man?! Why?!?!?!
Anyway, i like Jane's addiction. Haven't heard much, but what i've heard i like.

Janes Addiction is awesome, not much around like it. Perrys voice is amazingly creepy sounding at times, and the reverb and harmonics in the vocals are genius. He sounds the same live, a truly unforgettable experiance.

THE GOLDEN STRING 11-15-2005 01:19 PM

have any of you seen the movie about here death

perry finds her dead of an overdose then puts her in the shower ...makes love to her dead body then makes the bed in to a memorial ...lies her in it then calls the cops
cant remember the name but pm me and i will find it

its called Gift, and its not a documentary or anything, just a short film that Perry made.

THE GOLDEN STRING 11-15-2005 01:23 PM

i know... and i think its wild gift
but a good flick all the same

Fenixpunk 11-15-2005 01:26 PM

no, i have it, its just "gift" but yeah, pretty good flick.

Electric Eye 11-15-2005 05:02 PM

Do you listen to Rush by any chance?...Because i always find it funny when people bash a band for the vocals and then listen to Rush.

no i don't listen to rush. i mean i can tolerate it in very small doses, but i dont think i'd ever own a rush album.

Wow...this thread hasn't been posted in since '05.

So "The Great Escape Artist" is streaming on iTunes and I had to check it out. I'm pleasantly surprised. Granted, I'm one of the few who seems to have found some enjoyment in "Strays"...but I can definitely see how it wasn't welcomed very warmly. They had definitely lost their Jane's Addiction-ness...it was straight ahead alternative rock. They seem to have gained some of that back this time around. They are a bit more adventurous with their songs, but there is a maturity with the music that needs to be there considering the age of the band.

I'll gladly add this one to my collection once it actually gets released. Very enjoyable stuff.

album: The Great Escape Artist

Ive always liked Jane's Addiction myself, looking forward to their latest release.

October 18, 2011. The album will be the first since their 2008 reunion.

I love them. Nothing´s shocking and Ritual are their best.
The new isn´t bad at all, but they will never be the same.

hartlockleer 10-23-2011 08:01 AM

They are good, i like them too

RobertJSink 10-24-2011 10:58 AM

My favorite song would definitely have to be "Stop". It's simple, rockin, and I really like the break in the middle of the song.

Howard the Duck 10-25-2011 07:28 AM

my fave is still Ritual

didn't like Nothing much

i just got Strays and the new one, so i'll be lending them a "new" ear

Mrd00d 10-26-2011 07:20 AM

Love Nothing's Shocking

"Ted, Just Admit It"

But I also loved Ritual de Lo Habitual

and looking forward to grabbing a copy of the new album...

SIRIUSB 10-26-2011 09:03 AM

Gotta like fellow Mage and Pagan Dave Navarro!
If not for just knowing what the Unicursal Hexagram is and having it as fret markers on his Epiphone acoustic artist model as well as elbow tattoos :pimp:
