Good choice. Of course I was rooting for Rubber Soul, but Dylan's classic album comes very very close and probably is better from a historical standpoint. So, yeah, this list came off pretty well. Was surprised Simon and Garfunkel, much as I love them, lasted as long as they did though.

On with the next battle, then:
Gothic Rock 1. The Sisters of Mercy - First and Last and Always 2. Bauhaus - In the Flat Field 3. Siouxsie and the Banshees - Juju 4. The Cure - Disintegration 5. Killing Joke - Night Time 6. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Let Love In 7. Cocteau Twins - Head Over Heels 8. Swans - White Light from the Mouth of Infinity 9. Chelsea Wolfe - Abyss 10. Fields of the Nephilim - Elizium Vote 4 off. I think most people who plan on participating have already heard most if not all of these albums, but for those who have not I'll give ample time to get listening. In that spirit I'll set the first deadline for October 10. Now, let's all get our rankings in order and get on voting until then |

No problem. If I have an expertise in any musical genre, folk rock is it. Yeah, I could have gone with any album by the Byrds, but Notorious Byrd Brothers was a good choice. Good as they were though, the Byrds really can't stand up to the likes of Dylan or the Beatles, their contemporaries at the time.
Really looking forward to the Goth Rock competition. I have a feeling my rankings will be all over the place there. I already have my definitive number one but I'm not telling which one. |
