Let me know what your opinions are, and then we'll get this going again within a couple of days
I agree Abbey Road is the more essential album (and a pretty popular album here in general I might add). I just didn't want to feel like I was stabbing Paul McCartney in the back

As far as replacing Ram, I'm not really a big fan of Coldplay so it might be unfair to put them on here. Fiona Apple sounds interesting or maybe something from the Britpop genre. Urban Hymns from the Verve is an album that interests me for example.

In any event, I'll go along with whatever you go with.

I've thought of something; we were talking about R.E.M.'s Murmur album and how there wasn't room for it on the Folk rock list. Well, why don't we put it on this list? One less album to worry about when it's time to make the next few wild card rounds. If so, the Pop Rock list will look like this:
Quote:
1. Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
2. Beatles - Abbey Road
3. The Kinks - The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society
4. Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
5. R.E.M. - Murmur
6. U2 - The Joshua Tree
7. Peter Gabriel - So
8. Supertramp - Crime of the Century
9. XTC - Skylarking
10. Electric Light Orchestra - Out of the Blue
If nobody has any objections to this, then we'll be going with that, I think

and btw Verve's Urban Hymns was already done in the Britpop battle. It came in 9th

I'm ok with that list as it is.

Okie-dokie, then let's get going again

Pop Rock

1. Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
2. Beatles - Abbey Road
3. The Kinks - The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society
4. Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
5. R.E.M. - Murmur
6. U2 - The Joshua Tree
7. Peter Gabriel - So
8. Supertramp - Crime of the Century
9. XTC - Skylarking
10. Electric Light Orchestra - Out of the Blue

Vote 4 off.
It's tempting to make the first round a bit shorter since we've already been discussing this battle for a little while, but I think I'll actually just give the customary two weeks, if only to prevent things getting hectic for myself as I start with uni stuff again from next week onwards. As such, this round will last until January 17.

Right so we want to get rid of the albums that suck right? the first three are terrible but picking a fourth became a bit harder:
Beatles - Abbey Road
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
U2 - The Joshua Tree
R.E.M. - Murmur
