I haven't been able to get into the extreme stuff. My experience with the wave at the time started and ended with Def Leppard. I do love the Lep though. I've since come around with Maiden. I have a few of their albums, seen them live twice.

Speaking of Maiden, I love love love the collaboration of Adrian Smith and Richie Kotzen.

By extreme I mean the church burning bands, the guttural vocals, and the double bass drums that sound like machine guns going off.

I still don't know any Saxon. I'll add them to the list lol.

Ah, I was once like you. So long ago. Well, about ten years ago. Then came Metal Month, and the education by Batlord. I saw the light, my son! Or should that be the darkness? I can even appreciate good black metal now. My youthful innocence is gone...

That song is literally just a bigger and better version of "Slowride".

I'll definitely check them out. I have the metal family tree here. It will take me a while to locate some of the branches. I will, eventually.

I've been on a real newobum kick myself lately. It's one of those genres I was never quite savvy enough to explain technically & music terminologically, but I know it and love it when I hear it.

Just listened to Cloven Hoof's Resist or Serve a few days ago.
