I have Obsolete and used to listen to it a decent amount. Sometimes I could listen to the whole thing, sometimes I'd just get sorta tired of it mid CD and switch though. Edgecrusher is a freakin siiick song though, even still.
I will say that their Hatefiles compilation was and probably still is one of the coolest albums I have. A few unreleased songs, some remix's of their tunes, and an awesome cover of Gary Nuemen's Cars. As the disc gets near the end, some of the songs and remix's are very gabber sounding in fact, which was absolutely the sh*t at the time I first got it. I'm probably gonna pop this on later actually. |

Any thoughts on the new release Mechanize? Just listening now and it's solid enough but nothing new and kinda tiresome. I was hoping for a little more Electronica in their sound.

the songs are far more aggressive and the watered down cyber-mall metal is nowhere to be found. i thought it was a fantastic return to form after a few less than stellar releases. |

I grabbed it on Monday and the Gene Hoglan's drumming is awesome as always. Overall I really enjoyed the album, it was abrasive yet still had melodic elements to it but without sounding formalized like a lot of other bands.

Listened to half the album today. It seems pretty good so far.
It's heavier than I expected. It's thrashy, yet clean and crunchy. I will probably listen to it again.

Few days ago only I heard archtype album and I found it amazing. This album is so fast and brutal. This album really impressed me. Fear Factory had a big part in their design, whether they intended it or not. Archetype basically says "we are what you are destined to become".Now looking forward to listen more songs of Fear Factory.

Now the new album is "The Industrialist" and since I got hyped about Fear Factory once again (I think they are one of my favourite bands of all time) I decided to finally give it a shot. It's such a huge disappointment. I realize that this band is sometimes critiqued for being repetitve, but I considered this a good thing in their case because for me this repetitiveness was big enough to leave me more or less (but still) content and with a sense of listening to FF and small enough to keep the stuff fresh. "Mechanize" was absolutely brilliant. "The Industrialist" sounds like poorly recycled garbage.
