No, but they mainly took a lot of heavy drugs that often, not always caused the mental illness's and the obsession with religious sects...
by the way....Sinead is no different she is Bipolar...does that need to be addressed also then..... Sinéad O’Connor Condition: Bipolar Disorder Sinéad O’Connor rose to fame in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, due in part to her hit single “Nothing Compares 2 U.” But fame isn’t everything. O’Connor was plagued with thoughts of suicide, and after several therapists and hospital visits. She was finally diagnosed with bipolar disorder. |

Yes I was on topic as I can see it, plenty of them go to odd religions and like Sinead O' Connor she was first diagnosed with mental illness before she turned to a religion so where am I off topic...You can't just pick and choose people who got mentally ill first and then needed to look for help religiously...that would be bias...people who are inflicted turn to all sorts, surely you know the way of the world...self help is often the way of choice over being drugged by the medical profession into a zombie...

Ffs woman this thread is literally about picking and choosing people who turned to religion. It isn't even about mental illness.

I think religion is delusional, but whatever opinion anyone may have on it, it's just not the same thing as mental illness.

I honestly never implied it was..just saying that the religion stuff is there for a safety net for people that cannot cope with the real world..same as Cliff Richard, religion to him is the most important way of life to him, supports his every need...has always had a religious person living under his roof now for many many years....that's me done....

This is both simple and profound! In fact, it looks like a pronouncement from a guru. If MB ever elects it's own guru, you'll get my vote (unless Frownland runs in the election, of course!) And thanks for clarifying the direction of the thread Marie: all we need now are some more case studies....

In February 1968, the English rock band the Beatles travelled to Rishikesh in northern India to take part in a Transcendental Meditation (TM) training course at the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The visit followed the group's denunciation of drugs in favour of TM[1] and received widespread media attention. The band's interest in the Maharishi's teachings was led by George Harrison's commitment,[2][3] and it changed Western attitudes about Indian spirituality and encouraged the study of Transcendental Meditation.[4] The visit was also the most productive period for the Beatles' songwriting.
the rest is on wiki if you wish to complete the write up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles_in_India their music altered during this period but was not anything but good.. |
