has anyone had the chance to pick up the new two disc set? Their record lable decided to put together all their hits onto a new two disc set called Rush:Gold. It's really very entertaining and it has enough music to occupy a few after noons. it has 29 tracks including "Tom Sawyer", "Xanadu", "New World Man", "The Spirit of Radio" and other good stuff. I was very eccentric when I heard xanadu and tom sawyer start playing, and the spirit of radio was an entertaining treat too.

Rush is ****in great. Most of the time. They wrote some pretty awful stuff through the late '80s, but then again, who didn't? They've definitely written some of the best rock songs and albums out there. Just the fact that they've produced more Gold albums than anyone else shows their longevity and greatness. But why aren't they in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame?

You have a great point though, Rush should be in the hall of fame, but then again, Black Sabbath & Lynyrd Skynyrd JUST got in for some reason or another.

You can say that again... Their bias against prog (and metal) is ridiculously obvious.... Tom Pety inducted before King Crimson and The Moody Blues??.... The Pretenders inducted before Yes and Iron Maiden?...Screw those bastards.
Their claims about musical impact, innovation and influence getting you inducted is a load of bullocks, by that criteria, King Crimson have been more worthy than half of the artists they have inducted in the past 15 years, they should have been inducted the day they were qualified for entry, which was way back in 1994, since it has to be 25 years since your first recording until you can be inducted... The board members are clearly going by personal preference, some members have even stated that they would make sure that KC would never be inducted, proof that The Hall Of Fame is a load of elitist bullshit. |

i think the fact that Rolling Stone has a huge amount of influence over who gets inducted and who doesn't has contributed to the fact that Rush hasn't made it in... RS has always had a thing against Rush, and probably King Crimson as well.
