I remember feeling the same way back in the 70s, wow...I cant believe that was 30+ years ago! I just cant imagine a life of playing my own music like these guys have done, along with alot of other artist, for so many years. 2112 was a landmark album that really defined that era of rock, the song was a story....15 to 20 minutes long. As so did other bands like Yes, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, etc. I think rock music had progressed to a stage in that era, of 'perfection'. Rock, Opera, Classical,....song arrangement along with the level of talent in those days was simply outstanding.

I'd recommend the live album Exit Stage Left. In a lot of ways I think it's my favorite album by them.

To be fair, you`ve pretty much got the three essential album as far as most Rush fans are concerned. The only one you`re lacking is "2112" and possibly "Permanent Waves" If you`re into their 1980`s more synth driven style then "Grace Under Pressure" is the pick.

As far as their live albums go, I actually prefer "All The Worlds A Stage" over the Exit live album and it was recored after 2112 and has a lot of their earlier stuff on it.

Yeah, Exit pretty much takes the best of pre-signals Rush and makes it better.

I especially love Rush's 70s albums. Hemispheres is my favorite.
