I've been away for too long to say the least. One thing that hasn't changed though is my intense interest in the metal genre. So I've decided to double down and both practice my writing as well as work on listening to new metal releases as they come out.

Format will be a short review of around 500 words. Won't really stick to a schedule for anything but will post when I can. I'm also always open to recommendations to review.


General scoring works as follows:

100 point system where you can convert the final score to a letter grade

95 - 100 = A (Near perfect, best of the best)

90 - 94 = A- (Excellent, would recommend to most)

87 - 89 = B+ (Good, some of the best for the genre)

83 - 86 = B (Solid, will enjoy if you like the genre)

80 - 82 = B- (Decent, has some great tracks but starting to lack a fair amount)

77 - 79 = C+ (Above average, only really recommended if interested in band/label/genre)

73 - 76 = C (Average, nothing noteworthy)

70 - 72 = C - (Below average, nothing to really recommend, just for the curious)

67 - 69 = D+ (Bad, lacks any real redeeming tracks)

63 - 66 = D (Really bad, missed the point of whatever they were trying to do)

60 - 62 = D- (Nearly unlistenable, At least they tried.)

59 and below = F (Not worth your time)

First reviews will be catch up on most of this years earlier albums, and from then on I'll move towards more recent releases.
