My favourite albums are; Saturday Night Wrist and Around The Fur.
Never heard their debut, I'm assuming it's worth getting?

Yeah, I'd say their debut, Around the Fur, and White Pony are like their holy trinity of albums. I really enjoyed Deftones, got bored by Saturday Night Wrist, and Diamond Eyes was a step up but they didn't change their sound like they did from the debut to White Pony. I love hearing them go from nu metal/rap metal type stuff to Bowie-influenced alt rock.

Really? I enjoyed Saturday Night Wrist, as well as Diamond Eyes.
I believe there's a new Deftones album scheduled for release later this year.

Also, have you heard the frontmans side project +++ (or Crosses) it's like an alt. rock group with an electro vibe.
They released their second EP this year and it's actually surprisingly good.

Not saying I didn't enjoy them to an extent. I just think their first 3 albums are untouchable. I'll be surprised if they can do something comparable to White Pony again, but I am a Deftones die hard so I'll listen to anything they put out. Team Sleep was alright...I didn't know about his other side project. I'll have to check that out.

I agree. They were a lot more ambient with their later recordings. White pony was an experimental mixture of hard play mixed with ambience. I wouldn't really consider them nu-metal. But definitely influenced it, along with Rage Against the Machine.

I read somewhere not too long ago that the Deftones vocalist, Chino Moreno, would be releasing an album with Aaron Turner from Isis. Sounds interesting and could be really good.

I already mentioned that Adrenaline is very nu metalish. Still, I did have a nu metal phase in my younger days, and it was one of my favorites. That along with Korn's debut are the only nu metal albums that have carried on into my more mature days...if more had been like those, the genre wouldn't have turned into a huge parody of itself. Around the Fur already showed some growth and I honestly find it to be closer to really heavy alt rock than nu metal. It had so much melody behind those chugging riffs...White Pony was a natural progression from that, in my opinion. If you think Saturday Night Wrist is alt rock, then why not Around the Fur? They basically admitted to trying to recapture that energy there.
