That will be on my to do list, to listen to their discography from the beginning.

Definitely do that.
Best albums, imo, are Adrenaline, White Pony, Around the Fur, and the self-titled. (Only for a couple songs on the self titled). But definitely start from Adrenaline and move forward. If you like Deftones at all, you will like something in all their albums.

I don't really like Wrist all that much, save for a few songs, and their latest is pretty good but I've found myself only really caring about a few songs on it. The gold is in Adrenaline, White Pony, and Around the Fur.

Agreed. By release date is the best way to do it. At least Around the Fur and then White Pony (minus Back to School... It drags the album down IMO). Th band claim they slapped together Around the Fur really fast and took their time with White Pony so it is interesting to hear them at their most sporadic and then their most focused.

Back to School was the song that label wanted on the record, not the band.. even they didn't want that one on there. I do not believe it was even on the original pressings, just the colored editions. It does hold it back a bit, but not much. White Pony is still their best work.

Diamond Eyes was good, even though it seemed to have completely different undertones than most of their albums.

That's a dangerous musical attitude to have, but as long as you only apply it to your favorite bands I can't really fault you

They can definitely do wrong. They did a lot of it in Saturday Night Wrist.
