White Pony is stunning, I haven't listened to much of their other work though.

Quote:
Deftones is proud to announce the title and release date of the brand new record. Diamond Eyes will be available everywhere May 18. The first track to be released is called "Rocket Skates", and will be available for free download at deftones.com next Tuesday, February 23. Head over to Deftones Myspace right now for a sneak preview.
Preview, sounds nice and heavy from what little you get:

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I might check this out. I have Around the Fur and White Pony and think decently enough of them...

Glad to hear they are still making music. I just hope this is better than Saturday Night Wrist...that album had some moments but it is nowhere near White Pony.

It just feels like after White Pony, they felt like all their amazing album powers were gone and just didn't want to put the effort in again. Adrenaline to Around the Fur to White Pony...such growth and then BAM self titled comes out. It also had its moments but I had sooo much more hope after White Pony.

As you can tell I really like this band. They are probably the ONLY band that ever got lumped in with nu metal that I still give a crap about. Never thought they deserved to be stuck with those guys, anyways.

Yeah I'm with you, one of the few tied in with Nu metal that I care about. Tool gets tied in quite often, or at least used to before the progressive rock label became popular again.

I also agree that Saturday Night Wrist was a bit of a disappointment, despite the great artwork. I liked the self-titled better. You're right that it wasn't as strong as the first 3, but I still like it quite a bit.

Nice vid! You can't go wrong with a cute girl playing a Deftones song.
And I agree, Hole in the Earth is the best tune on Wrist.
Xerces is another one I like a lot.

Now I'll arbitrarily post my favorite Deftones song, which resides on their self-titled album.

LOVE that song. I think one of my all time favorites is Be Quiet and Drive. I have a LOT of memories tied to it, and I just love it. Something about the notes.. or just general feeling of it.

I guess I should have used the title of the album I was talking about.

It was Saturday Night Wrist.

It was my first album from them and I didn't like it at all. I felt it only had one good track on it and I had very mixed feelings about it.

Personally, as a Deftones fan, I think you should literally work through their discography in order of release date. Wrist is definitely not an album you can encapsulate them with.
