Talking Deftones

Ok so back in the day I listened to the Deftones. Not so long ago now that I think about it. Needless to say my taste in music has changed for the better seeing that I dont listen them anymore. Anyway, here's the reason I'm posting this. While the Deftones aren't really that great of a band or the most original. Compared to the nu-metal they were coming up with and still touring and etc. with, Deftones were original. At the time no one really sounded like them, and Chino's scratchy voice definitely brought a uniqueness to the band that other bands didn't have. Also, Deftones sound weren't really altered by current trends of the time. Disturbed, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Staind, all of these bands were terrible.

Now here is one of those bands that sound awesome in studio on tape then live. And it maybe that BOTH times I saw them Chino was having a bad day..but they sucked live..to the point I actually felt bad for spending the money on the ticket..but I can so jam to them while listening to them on stereo...they did a track with Tool..well..Maynard..at that rocked and they collaberate really well with other bands..but I wouldnt see them live..ever...again...

Pretty lame band. I just can't seem to get into anything roughly nu-metal related.

If I didn't get here so late I would've voted for White Pony. That album is incredible.

I love the way Chino can make screaming sound beautiful.

Deftones really changed my taste in music when I was younger.

I watched a song of their's on Scuzz, I don't know what it's called but it was set in a high school...I've never disliked a song and singer so much on the first watch.
