Wes Borland's entire claim to fame is that he's the underrated guy from Limp Bizkit. If he was from a less awful band, would anybody really care? Is he actually good enough for anyone to take notice without him being in a cartoonishly awful band?

I think he is, yes. Go check out Black Light Burns, he's the guitarist/lead vocals. I am not saying you'll be blown away, but I think you'll notice that his playing has a more tasteful or thought out quality to it. I still think he is capable of much better work, but Black Light Burns isn't the appropriate outlet for the kind of playing I know he's capable of. It's just an alt rock/industrial group he put together.
