It had enough of the things I love about the Pumpkins to get my vote... it was no Siamese Dream, but its not the early nineties now I guess... I loved hearing one ofmy favorite banda comng back, though!
TheFutureEmbrace... well, I barely listen to that album these days... and frankly even when I do I find it quite unlistenable and/or boring... I WAS hoping the next album would be one of their killer albums like Mellon Collie and Siamese Dream... thats even if Corgan decides to make an album...he seems hell bent on singles... and what will it all sound like without Chamberlin on drums... so many questions...

Well now that sounds most interesting indeed! I am looking forward to collecting these tracks... all, uh, 44 of them... sounds like it could be an intense listen! But I always loved the more long winded Pumpkins.... hehehehe

They're releasing it in the form of 11 4 track EPs apparently. They're being released physically as well if you want cd sound quality, which will obviously cost money. According to Billy their sound is gonna be old school Pumpkins meets the future.
Here's the full article on their website: Quote:

Oh it's just Billy doing his best mysterious titling as always... I'm really freaking excited about this album! Bring it on!

Yes it is, most definitely... a wonderful melody with some really timelessly aching lyrics.... still sounds great today!

Anyway, yeah, Billy Corgan is a supreme pissant and almost all of his music is unlistenable. Yet the early Smashing Pumpkins albums are special to me. Whatever bullshit he has made since then is just that - but I forgive him (and forever love the guy) because of Gish and Siamese Dream. |
