These guys always bothered me, the music is fine, I'm not into it, but it's far from annoying. It's more there essence, whatever that means.

Perhaps you mean Billy C.'s essence which is most certainly NOT pleasant.

Hummer is also very good. I read that Billy wrote it because he had writers block and just put anything together. If so, it is still an amazing song.

I look forward to their anniversary tour, G.L.O.W. was decent but not great. Ive never really been able to get into the Smashing Pumpkins but I think Billy is a great guitarist and has good voice. My fav album would have to be Siamese Dream, their crowning glory in my opinion. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness for the most part just seemed kinda dull. Didnt Soma have like 60 different guitar parts on it? Insane

Yeah Soma is pretty wild. I think Adore was a good album .as well I think people don't like ti because of the sudden change of style, but all in all its a moving album. It's nothing compared to Siamese Dream but they were different albums anyways.

Adore is a very underrated album. Yes it is completely different to their early stuff but Perfect, Behold! The Night Mare and For Martha are just beautiful and are some of the best songs Billy has ever written.

One reason a band changes style on an album is to mask the fact that the material on it is really poor.
