What the heck are you talking about?? The Smashing Pumpkins were less than Nirvana in the grunge scene because even though TSP and Soundgarden were classified as grunge, Nirvana are the ones that made them famous...ignorance is bliss though. Think what you want.

How the hell did Nirvana make them famous? Did they promote them? Did they peddle their CD's on tour? Im pretty sure they never toured together either. And yes I will think that Soundgarden and the Pumpkins were better than Nirvana.

And i'd like to point out you're incoherency for the purpose of clarrification.

"Sp were less than nirvana because they were classified as grunge and that in turn means nirvana made them famous"

Thats the gist I got.

I was a fan of soundgarden and smashing pumpkins before nirvana ever made it onto the music industries radar screen (yes, I'm old, and yes both bands have been around longer than Nirvana) Nirvana may have helped increase the popularity of grunge music, but both bands were successful before nirvana blew up the scene.

Yes, I was only saying that they made the grunge scene popular, judas priest.

Sneer 04-18-2005 09:16 AM

the pixies piss on all of them.

Aside from the fact that I don't think they piss on any of the groups listed. You'd need to loom miles above a group to piss on them, and I would say that while their are better groups than the three listed, no one is so much greater than them that they could piss on them.

Sneer 04-18-2005 02:28 PM

didnt expect you to think of what i said in literal terms. to me the pixies started off the grunge movement, doolittle surpasses nevermind, siamese dream and superunknown. plus, i just prefer them. though TSP, soundgarden and nirvana are all very good bands i might add.

If you're taking this literally then you only have to be next to someone to piss on them. But yes, I agree that The Pixies started it, even though I don't like all of their ****...

I don't think he meant Frank Black breaks into recording studios and pee's on people. Im almost certain he meant they were vastly more talented than the bands listed.

stonedpath 04-27-2005 04:12 PM

Gish!!!

stonedpath 04-27-2005 04:13 PM

gish is the record that blows up the ears of innocent children.... In other words it's great and their best work :thumb:

theman78370 04-27-2005 04:26 PM

pretty much anything by them is good. however, i dont like that their greatness is often lessened when their songs are often over-played on radio stations.

PopIsDead 05-02-2005 04:53 PM

My favorite Smashing Pumpkins songs: Geek USA, Silverf*ck, Siva, Bullet With Butterfly Wings, XYU, and some others.

Anarchy doll 05-02-2005 07:21 PM

I like almost everything from Gish and Mellon Colie.....Ava Adore has like 3 songs I like. I LOVE the video for Try, Try, Try though, cuz I lived it, so it kinda hits home. Wait, there was no home, shall I say it hits the subway floor? LOL!

coolness, shall take a look....is Billy Corgans solo stuff any good? i havent heard it...

lilbloodredridinghood 05-21-2005 08:36 AM

He's playing at the 9:30 club in D.C. (usa) on the 24th? I think? I was going to try to go, but I don't think I want to be driving into D.C all by myself...little white chicks don't do very well there so I've heard. Hah.

Imonlydancing 05-21-2005 08:58 AM

haha....well, i live in England...so could be kinda hard...i'd like to see him though.

lilbloodredridinghood 05-21-2005 11:10 AM

go to www.netphoria.org it might say there where all he's going to play. I don't know though, don't mark my words...I haven't been to that site in ages.

Imonlydancing 05-21-2005 11:19 AM

thanks!

Corgan's Single

Couldn't find the other BC thread so screw it I made this one.

He put Mina Loy up in iTunes (booo) and its available for purchase. I think the song is hella infectious. If you guys pick it up, let me know what you think, but someone once said Billy Corgan was the John Fogerty of today, a control freak who knew what he was doing. Him doing solo work is probably the best thing for him and for the music (and therefore us).

Imonlydancing 05-30-2005 11:22 AM

ooo, i'd like to hear that. are there any sites you can get it off?

TheBig3 05-30-2005 01:54 PM

All i know is iTunes, but im sure the technological wizards sold it to the pirates and they have it on some obscure website. At first I was like "eh" but then I was like, "oh wait a minute....this song kicks some ass"

Imonlydancing 05-30-2005 01:58 PM

oh right, i don't have itunes, maybe you could mail it to me?
