I guess I am a fan, my coffee mug at work I bought from Alice Cooper's store, it's black with his name on the side. My ringtone on my cell phone is I'm Eighteen.

Alice Cooper is a fantastic artist. If you listen to his albums without any preconceived notions concerning his persona and over the top stage shows and image it is truely classic. Lyricly he is masterful and he puts so much emotion and feeling into his music. Like Ozzy who I am also a big fan of due to his MUSIC, Alice's talents musically are overshadowed by his reputation as an over the top showman who only looks for cheap shock value. If the music of both Ozzy and Alice are listened to it is easy to see how great they are, making some of the most enduring songs ever. It is unfortunate that these two are mainly known for their on stage antics instead of the incredible artists they are. Maybe someday they will get the respect they deserve.

Alice Cooper is one of the gods of rock that should be never forgotten. My love for his music is boundless, even if I don't listen to him that much anymore.

I love Alice Cooper. He's one of my influences, I've liked his music since I was pretty young. Alice is timeless, and I think he's still going strong. My favorite songs are "I'm Eighteen", "Poison", "The Ballad of Dwight Fry", and one of his new ones, "In Touch With Your Feminine Side".
Alice's new album, Along Came a Spider, really amazed me, and after buying Death Magnetic(Metallica) and Black Ice(AC/DC), Along Came a Spider is definitely the best, in my opinion.

Holy thread ressurection Batman...
If Im going to be a member of the forum then there is no way you wont get me talking about my favourite artist, Alice Cooper. Been lucky enough to see him live twice in the last 6-7 years, it amazed me that at his age he can still put on a show the way he does. To be the character that he plays, the man that he is in real life, the stories that got told in the early years, it all screams rock and rock every detail of it. Personally I think I'd have to say "Welcome to my Nightmare" and "Trash" are my favourite albulms but in saying that its very hard for me to find music of his that I dont like. I still get questioned by my christian friends how I could like him, people still believe the storys about the chicken head and stuff. I dunno, it just makes it more fun. To see that he is finally going in to the hall of fame as well, its about time though in saying that I fail to see how the hall of fame means anything anymore...lol So theres my rant, honestly believe the man is one of the true greats and even if the style of music is not within your taste I fail to see how anyone to question the bands importance |
