There can be only one white boi blues band.

Zeppelin
Like honestly it’s not close LZ are as good as Chula says they are Even ****ing better. Even you know it. |
God love him, but why does Kossoff come across looking like a neanderthal in every damn photo? You'd think that one of his groupies would have tamed that thing.

Nah Zep sucks, terrible musicians. just a whole buncha nonsense
|
I don't get it.

Damn. I got lphd.

Free is great, but Led Zeppelin wins just for Presence. I've never understood why that isn't considered one of their best. The best and most consistent Zep album in my book.
|
Free's self titled from '69 utterly destroys Zep's whole career. A perfect harmony of Blues, Soul, and Funk, cut with crushingly heavy bass guitar playing, and sharp guitars that go for atmosphere rather than shredding and wanktastic "look-at-me" speed and technicality, even intentionally leaving in mistakes for what they sonically contribute to the feeling of the tracks.
It's almost Post Punk in its funky, bass-centric and simultaneously uplifting and yet depressive approach. Even the slow and "happy" songs have this gut wrenching heaviness just beneath the surface. Painfully underrated, and written off by most Free fans (and fans of British Blues in general) for veering away from just straight Blues Rock, and having the balls to be something unique. Plus, the album cover is groovy. http://www.paulrodgers.com/wp-conten.../Free_Free.png |

^ Lowkey admitting that the album is perfect, funky, underrated, and groovy

Tbh, when I think WBB's, I think along the lines of this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0EUJ2WcCuk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0tJhHlbxWo ...not Zep or Free. But yeah, mark me down for some Free. Tired of the Zep. |

You don't need to be brought to Chuladom. You are already there my friend. |
*shrug* K. Sorry you don't like it.
That thick bass is so strong and fuzzy, though, brought above the mix perfectly. I think heavy describes it pretty well. |
While Free has the best album cover, I'd honestly much rather listen to Zep. Even better, some third option. I'm 100% sure there must exist some old blues rock band that blows both out of the water.

Wall of Videos: Chula's EX Ultimate Attack. Not as good as his True Ultimate, Copy/Pasted Definitions.

I don't know - a little bit here, a little bit there. Never really felt like listening to a full album.

Try listening to Free's self-titled and Zep's debut, both from '69, and see which one you prefer. |

Whatever it was, I apologize. |

We talking SRV or....?
|
Sure. Anything but Beefheart, especially his "commercial" phase. Clear Spot made me vomit in my Reese's Puffs.
Strictly Personal is groovy, though, I can not tell a lie. |
