I've already heard that Hellwitch album before and I know it's great, but I'll have to listen to it again to comment on it more.

Mondo Bungle 10-20-2018 03:26 PM

it's an album that can be genuinely and perhaps only described with words like "vicious" and "savage"

but that goes for a lot of that style I guess. Massacra are pretty vicious.

Mondo Bungle 12-16-2018 03:07 PM

can we revive the thread and just listen to this

usage of the f word has never been more appropriate than right now when I say this album rocks pretty fucking hard. Basically the hardest.

It's pretty much perfect in every way I can think of.

Mondo Bungle 12-17-2018 02:03 PM

well don't blame me for trying to get it going

MicShazam 12-17-2018 02:05 PM

Well, I did listen to a little bit of it. But this thread stays dead. At least that's my wager.

The Batlord 12-17-2018 02:08 PM

Kinda meh tbh and the vocalist is pointless.

The Batlord 12-17-2018 02:10 PM

But the cover is on. ****ing. point.

MicShazam 12-17-2018 02:12 PM

I thought it had some interesting deviations from the usual thrash repetoire. And a pretty cool raw sound. But I'm not really shopping around for any albums of that sort anymore and I lost interest fairly quick. I think that Voivod album that came out recently is all the thrash I need to hear for now.

Mondo Bungle 12-17-2018 02:16 PM

thrash metal AOTY for sure

It's like a Hell Awaits/Carnivore combo with some of the most awesome atmosphere I've been engulfed in for thrash. The production too is out of this world and one of the most important aspects of the music. It's just so vast but full at the same time. A highly original kind of sound that brings nonstop creative and absolutely slaying riffs, large vocals, and incredibly satisfying drums.

I'm hoping it becomes a classic cuz it deserves it imo. Could it be a harbinger of cavernous thrash metal? Either way it's on of the most remarkable albums of its kind to come out in a while.

Blarobbarg 12-17-2018 09:40 PM

I’ll listen to it tomorrow morning Mondo, give me time. Cavernous thrash sounds rad.
