I admit I forgot it even existed.

I remember looking at that Liars album cover and thinking "damn that's ugly".

Sounds about right.

Maybe it was the album cover that killed the thread.

There are no other possible explanations to be found.

Gotta be honest, I didn't like the album at all. To the point that I had no interest in even commenting on it. It was just boring to me.

I would love to move on to the next album, though.

Liar - Liar's Hell (2002)

So I finally did the right thing and gave this a listen. Gotta say I'm not crazy about it. Aside from the possibly-worst-ever cover artwork for a thrash album, it's pretty much the sort of faceless, hook-less gray goop that caused me to lose interest in both thrash and death metal.

At least it sounds kinda heavy, mixing wise and there's some refreshing (in context) mid tempo chugging that got my head bopping ever so slightly for a second.

Okay I listened to that Hellwitch album.

What can I say? It ****ing rips from start to finish. It's all insanely fast riffs and manic vocals. It's combines the furious speed and technicality of thrash metal's greats with the weird experimentalism of early death metal.

Frankly, I can't think of a bad thing to say about it. It's not a heavy album per se, and it certainly isn't the most "brutal" thrash I've ever heard, but it truly takes what makes thrash as a genre great- its pace, and its fearless swagger- and it hones in on those things, ignoring all other possible nuances in favor of making the best ****ing thrash album they could.

Great choice, windsock.

Now let's get this show on the road or I'll just listen to all these albums by myself.
