My pick for this album club is my favorite thrash album, but to be fair, I haven't heard much recent thrash besides it (and like a few thrash tracks from Trappist's Ancient Brewing Tactics, but they're more of a hardcore band with thrash influences).

Oh ****, I started listening to the album days ago but got sidetracked and never finished it. Was meh as I recall. Pay me no mind and we'll move on.
Liar - Liar's Hell (2002)

That Liar album is good stuff, I like the thrash/metalcore hybrid sound it has. The first song in particular reminds me of Snapcase with the guitar tone and riffing style. Some of it also sounds like how I wish Kreator would sound these days, instead of the overproduced melodic death metal-esque sound they have now.
Good length too, keeping it at just over a half hour keeps it from getting real monotonous, which I think it would have suffered from if it was any longer. Solid album, I'll definitely be checking out some of their other stuff at some point. |
