For me at least, it was probably the best thing that's happened on MB. I really enjoyed going in depth with his music in such a focused manner. I wouldn't do the same thing for just any artist, but I'd do it again.
It's very hard to make people do all that work, of course. If it's a single thread, btw, wouldn't it just be like a regular thread about "artist x"?

It makes it easy to establish some familiarity with an album, if I can just spin it 4 times in a row while reading a few chapters of a book. Of course, it is a different experience than being more attentive, so I'd still prefer to put in at least 1 listen where I'm not doing something else that demands concentration.
Also; drawing while listening to music works perfectly together - but I don't really draw anymore. I probably should get back to that.

I think I want the opposite of what would get some action going. If I could have my way, everyone would listen to everything and write a least several paragraphs about it. Like I hoped the album club would be, kind of even was for a while, but certainly isn't now. There's lots of general discussion about music and albums on MB, but not a lot of something more focused and "serious".
But it's not like it really works all that well as it is now, so if MB Metal Classics went in another direction, I'd just follow the stream and not complain.
