Im sick of all these threads where someone talks about a band that they like, and it gets trashed on by a bunch of people. Not everyone is going to like the same styles of music that you like. There is no reason for people to hate on Slipknot ,because they are an original band that likes to play loud music that blows your **** off! Whoever doesnt like Slipknot could probably list some of the bands that u like and I could rip the **** out of them, but it wouldnt be worth it. Sometimes people like listening to music depending on what kind of mood they are in. I personally like to listen to Slipknot's newest cd while im excersising cause it pumps me up.

Listen to whatever you want, doesnt concern me, but when someone says hey what do you think of slipknot, im gonna tell them exactly what i think about them and recommend an alternative, just as i did on this thread. I wasnt "hating" on slipknot, just stating that they are a mediocre metal band with a stage gimmick that is nowhere near original.
BTW - the gwar interview that i was refering to - darkstar: What does “Gwar” mean? Oderus: “What does Gwar mean?” darkstar: Yeah, because I’ve heard it stood for “God What an Awful Racket.” Oderus: Just to let you know, it’s not an acronym for, you know, “*** Weird Anal Reprobates,” all right? It’s not that. Even though we are, ok? We’re not denying that. We’re supporting it. We’re advocating it. darkstar: So what does it mean? Oderus: Whoa whoa whoa! Wait a minute. You know what? A lot of people ask me this question: “What does “Gwar” mean?” I don’t know. I don’t know what the name of my own band means. Jen: Did you make it up? Oderus: No. No! I’m just…I am that. That’s what I am. I’m Gwar. Whatever I am is what Gwar is. So I guess that’s the struggle all people have – the quest for self identity. That’s what Gwar is, why we’re alive. Yeah, this weed in Vancouver is really good. “I’m Eddie Vedder.” [Mumbles, then sings incoherently.] Die! Just ****ing die! Die! [Sings.] “Don’t call me daughter.” What the **** does that mean? All right, next question. Sorry, I mean, I could go with this for a while, my Eddie Vedder impersonations. “Hey Eddie, Kurt Cobain just blew his head off!” [Mumbles.] complete interview

I think they have 9 people because they want a more different sound, but you also look at mushroomhead, which came out before slipknot are almost the same. Slipknots singer. I think personally is good and has a nice tone, though his voice is dieing out from past CDs all the screaming. Their old stuff was great and yet it repeated over and over. Now they are streamline and you can ask someone and they'll be like yah I’ve heard of them. That pisses me off. But, I think if it sounds good when it comes together its fine with me, even if it does do stuff over doesn’t mean they suck. But there are better bands. They are also great shows men. I like seeing them in concert. That’s my point of view.

^ but that makes perfect sense!!!
it happens to me often...like i like a band and no one's heard of'em and i feel like i'm the only one that relates to their songs but then they become famous and every little sh*tty boy/ girl have heard of it and it's like an offence to that band and usually the band ends up selling out....sad, but sometimes true...

^but still, if u like a bands music and then they become popular thats no reason to suddenly dislike them.
