I enjoy a lot more of Sabbath's stuff to Zep's. They have a more pleasing sound to me.

Individual songs, I just love Sabbath more as well. I don't think Zep have ever made anything that is close to being as good as War Pigs. If I compared record to record of the first 6 I think I would prefer all of Sabbath's, except for maybe LZ4. I prefer Ozzy's vocals to Plant's also.

Also most of Zep's stuff doesn't sound Metal imo. I still like them btw. A great Hard Rock band.

Anybody calling Sabbath a typical metal band needs to get their head checked out. Black Sabbath were by far the most important band in the development of heavy metal, they created doom metal, stoner metal, and arguably thrash metal as well. They made the first progressive metal album, and they were highly influential in stoner rock.

There's other things like Bill Ward's crazy-ass drumming, Iommi's use of downtuned guitars, and the frequent use of dissonant riffs.

Points? What? I'm gonna just say **** it. Sure, why not. Yes. They all lose all the points. They're all rounded edges now.

Change it before Trollheart sees it and inflicts a joke upon us.

Too late ... oh.
Not sure what joke I could have made, to be honest.

The ****? Sure, they had a lot of influence on metal, but most of it really didn't sound much like Sabbath at all. Doom, stoner, and sludge metal are really the only genres that Sabbath would be prototypical to. Punk really just changed the game far too much for basically all metal after it hit, and even before most bands weren't really aping Sabbath to any great extent.

Fair point. But NWOBHM was a lot of Sabbath based hooks/riffs but at double the tempo. The influence Sabbath had on every hard rock/metal band that came after them is unassailable. (Just for you Monkey-boy)

Plank, seemed like you were faulting Zep for flexing their songwriting muscles and branching out beyond the heavier blues based stuff.

Huh???? I haven't faulted anyone for anything. I think you may be letting your emotional attachment to LZ trigger some delusions.
