Why Black Sabbath vs Led Zeppelin? Why not Black Sabbath AND Led Zeppelin?
I have seen Led Zep and Sabbath with Ozzy many times live and in my opinion Led Zep is a better live band. But Sabbath especially with Tony on guitar is a better metal band.

Details? Do you remember the date? I've got a ton of boots and might have the show.

I'm afraid I don't remember the exact dates but the first time I saw Led Zep was The Scandinavian Tour back in September 1968 and the last time was The European Tour 1980 beside of the 02 Arena Concert 2007. Led Zep is/was a really great live band beside of The Pink Floyd which I saw the first time they performed TDSOTH at Wembley 1974 and the last time at Earls Court 1980.

Was Zep billed as The New Yardbirds when you first saw them?

Black Sabbath isn't your arbitrarily chosen acceptable metal band any more?

You’re lost. That’s as hopeless as saying neither the Sex Pistols not the Ramones.
