Hanneman has a bit more flavour in his solos but ja they're very similar.

I'm assuming the uniform styles are entirely intentional. It would be weird to hear Kerry King going crazy on "Angel of Death" and then in comes John Petrucci.

It's defo intentional but the alternative could work better than ****ing that.

King's solos are average with a few of them being good. Hanneman's solos are always good if not great.

Sort of like on Rust In Peace how Mustaine's solos are always amazing while Marty Friendman's solos are good at best.

What the ****? You have it backwards, son. Mustaine always banks on the strength of the other guitar player.

I never thought Friedman's solos fit the music. He uses too much melody and it always sounds out of place.

I don't like Friedmans solo records, but he was an excellent fit for Megadeth imo. The solo in Tornado of Souls is immortal. My favorite lead guitarist for Megadeth was probably Chris Poland. His style just fit really interestingly on the two albums he played on (The System Has Failed and Peace Sells). Poland plays with all these subtle bends and adds a lot of tonal tension in his melodies, making it sound quite jazzy at times.

I think most of the band's lead guitarists have been interesting. Chris Broderick and Glen Drover somewhat excepted.

Translation: Mustaine plays very safe solos and Friedman tries to make the song more interesting.

Ja, Poland is most definitely the best Megadeth guitarist all around and is jazzy as ****.

Mustaine's ending solo in "Five Magics" is fantastic. Friedman belongs in ****ing nightwish or whatever.

Other bands do the tasteful metal solos much better, like Heathen.

I'll add it to the list of dumbass opinions that you'll eventually learn to reverse.
