I saw that on some Internet pages they are labeled as glam metal but on others heavy metal.

Who cares! Most Glam metal is just heavy metal with the performers dressing effeminate.

I saw them in the 80s at McNichols Arena in Denver. Just going on that on performance, they're more metal than glam, but more theatric than actual metal. Blackie Lawless was throwing out posters of himself, for Pete's sake.

(I did, however, catch one, and sell it to a fanatic in the parking lot for $20 because, and I quote "Blackie f***ing touched it, man!!!")
