MicShazam is afraid of becoming jaded or something.

I'm with you MicShaz. World's ****ed up but I'm not going to give in to the general despair and nihilism expressed by some, esp Batty. I'm happy to enjoy the world on my own terms, for what I can get out of it, and what little I can give to it. That may be, and probably is, a simple-minded philosophy, but it's how I live my life, and how I want to. I'd rather be a somewhat blind optimist that a wide-awake and constant pessimist.

Could I kill if backed into a corner? Sure. Humans are mostly animal by nature. In 1933 Germany could I have gone along with the genocide out of absolute fear for me and my family's lives? Sure. In 2017 America I'm neither brain dead nor part of any of your supposed problems. Put the broad brush away and start considering using some nuance when you get in the mood to rant.

And that kind of idiotic arrogance is dangerous. Pay attention.

Until you explain the grounds for you using the word "arrogance" to define what I'm saying - I'm tuning you out.

Are you saying he's arrogant because he doesn't know - none of us know - what lengths we would go to if pushed into a corner, if fighting for our lives? I'm curious to know.

Thinking that America is incapable of committing horrific domestic atrocities suggests that we are above and beyond basic human nature. That is arrogant as **** my friend. You're banking on things that can change easily as evidence that we could never commit such atrocities and that's also arrogant (well, more short-sighted and irrelevant tbh) because of how quickly things can change. Did you ever think someone like Trump could be president? How long ago would that be a sheer impossibility for you? Your points are meaningless in light of Batlord's overall stance. Now ignore everything I said and shout at me about something you misinterpreted.
