Default Why does Europe have a better metal scene than America?

I mean, it is subject to opinion, but I have seen better bands come out of Europe than America.

Cause limeys have such depressing and frustrating lives to draw inspiration from.

In the UK, it's pretty much either join a Metal band or start shovellin' that pig shit.

I mean sure, the American metal scene is pretty cute, but it's really no contest.

it definitely is no contest because there is not a single continent that doesn't have an even ratio of bad to good music and they're all equal and respectably have their own scenes and artists that any other country does

So, basically, fifty countries together have more good music than one country. Noted.

My friend who was in a Metal band told be he would travel to Europe to do concerts cause there wasn't much of a scene here. That is only one view point though. I don't know if there is or isn't a better Metal scene in Europe.

He ended up forming a 70s Glam band and actually got to open up for Dick Dale (that concert was in the US).

In the 80's metal Brits and Yankees ruled. From the 90's onwards it's Scandinavia, all the way.

On my list of favorite current metal bands, only a couple are from Scandinavia.
