Same here. Cornell was a god, but those other 3 guys were pretty top notch too. And it's not grunge for cripes sake. It's hard and heavy rock.

I didn't call it grunge. But yes, I agree.

Wasn't directed at you. Just the stereotype.

i would call it grunge because it's a part of that movement and i dislike the majority of the music to come out it, so as a general rule i would say i don't like grunge. i might start calling ICP grunge because it just makes the whole thing easier.

also let's not forget as JGuy explained, it's all about the right type of angst lolamirite

Not sure if anyone here remebers the sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati, but they did a pretty dark episode on the whole payola/cocaine thing where the station's top DJ got corrupted and went on a bad downward spiral while playing mostly disco (which he hated) because he was being bribed to by a major label.

Oh, and....

I remember WKRP in Cincinnati, but I don't remember that episode.

No doubt there's a lot of great music that wasn't played on the radio then as now. That's commercial radio for you I guess. That's why, when I did listen to radio, I tended to stick to the college stations.

Eh. Grunge is an ambiguous term that a lot of bands got lumped into. Its more of a time period label than a particular sound imo. There are plenty of noise rock or heroin addict fronted rock bands out there today that would have been labelled grunge if they were active in the 90s.

Remember the episode they did about the tragic Who concert in Cincinnati? Another really dark one.

Yeah I vaguely remember that one. It's been awhile since I thought about that. Deadly concerts is a good one.
