Default Favorite song on Deep Purple album Machine Head?

Lazy for me, Jon Lord dominated in that tune.

Never listen to it because of Made in Japan.

I really can't decide cause every song is fire. I guess "Highway Star", "Lazy", and "Space Truckin'" all have a claim.

Have you seen the VH1 classic albums series on the making of the album? The story behind Smoke on the Water is totally true. The band had to resort to a run down hotel with a mobile unit and recording in hallways. After each take they'd have to climb out a 2nd story window and walk across the roof to get to the truck to listen to the take.

It's amazing the album came out as great as it did. I wonder how different it would have come out if the Casino hadn't burned down.

"Highway Star". Every time I hear that guitar work, I hump the carpet.
