The Official **** Dragonforce thread
Look, we all hate them, and I'm guilty of being one of the ones who once said "I don't get it, what's wrong with them?" I listened to, I think, Inhuman Rampage and thought it was ok. Then some years later I heard Maximum Overload and I thought "Hang on a minute! These are the very same runs, the same solos, the same riffs, the same sound effects ... in fact, the same everything!"
And lo! The (dragon) scales fell from my eyes and they were opened to the banality that is Dragonforce, and I saw them for what they were: cliche-ridden, teen-friendly, bandwagon-jumping talentless wankers who were the very parody of everything that is bad about power metal. Praise Dio, I have been saved! So come on, my friends.... http://memes.ucoz.com/_nw/11/35682289.jpg |
are we just running out of ideas for threads?

Hey, if someone can start a "**** Lars Ulrich" thread, I can start a "**** Dragonforce" one. |
**** all forms of power metal.

I like the first record - solid power metal with flashy guitar acrobatics. Everything has its place.
They have been writing the same song ever since though. |

I know there was a song I used to like from them back in the day, when I was still a dumb teenager, but I don't even know if I like that song anymore. "Black Fire" I think. |
I did. I liked the one song. Then I bought an album. Didn't question why I never ended up getting past more than halfway through, or remembering more than the first three songs. Took me a good while to realize that they were boring me. Ah the stupidity of youth. In my defence, this was before I had money or an internet connection, so that Dragonforce album was a much greater percentage of my music library than it would be now (I sold it), so I was kind of invested in liking it.
