Default The Modern Wave of Death Metal

A lot of bands are doing some super cool and original things pertaining to death metal. And a lot of those bands started out as standard old school dm worship, before diving into all kinds of unique progressiveness. They began incorporating elements of progressive and psychedelia, and they've all done it their own way.

Horrendous's second album shows a peculiar and melodic style. It's eccentricities are subtle and hard to pin down exactly what it is making it standout

Tribulation are something great. Their debut was an extremely badass death metal ripper, into Formulas of Death, where they jam it out hella tough and act as a psychedelic death metal jam band

Onto Children of the Night, another shift in style. Death metal incorporating gothic/deathrock sounding overtones

More psych death metal coolness from Morbus Chron. Somewhat sparse vocals but gnar jams
