Question Starting a Band!

Is starting a rock band a bad idea? I've been considering starting a hard rock band for some time now, but I've always put it off. However, recently I've been getting really annoyed by the ****ty music that's out now a days and I have to do something about. I just can't take it anymore. So my question is would it be a huge financial loss to start a rock band, would it be worth it? I'm serious about this so if someone could please give a legit answer.

If you are passionate about making music then do it and the personal payoff will be worth the cost of the instruments tenfold. I don't think I'd ever tell anyone it was a "bad idea" unless they decided to drop all career aspects to become a rockstar before establishing themselves in the scene first.

thought about it when I turned fourteen and I thought of making my own band and guess what...I did.

Than I found out that bands need the right equipment which brought me upto another problem, the money issue. I thought about it and I said heck with it maybe I should spend all the money I have on instruments and equipment for my band.

Than I started to think about what my life will be like in another 20-25 years.

Than I broke up with my band and we have not talked since the break up (due to money problems)

Than now I figured that maybe I should just be an alone rocker because I have a very strange taste in rock music so I just thought about just being my own self.

It's only a bad idea if you're not scoring mad chicks.

Yeah, **** those dumb kids with their rap and techno and Justin Bieber.
Now hard rock, that's something bold and exciting. I'm sure it'll change the world.
