I'd put on Killing Machine (Hell Bent) before I'd put on British Steel.

I think Hell Bent could have been their definitive album but the AOR didn't mix coherently with the bluesy swaggery biker metal. "Evening Star" is a good song but it shouldn't be on the same album as "Delivering the Goods". British Steel mostly fixed that issue.

Metal Gods is great but if I have to hear Living After Midnight or Breaking the Law again at any point in the near future, I'll be over here stabbing my ears.

This might be the actual best 80s trad metal album and no I don't care that it's a live album.

Alright I've changed my mind. Hell Bent for Leather is the best Judas Priest album. Are you happy now?

Sure, why not. HBFL and Running Wild are two of my absolute favorite tracks by Priest. The opening riffs on both are what rock was built on. It's a scientific fact.

Would Accept be considered '80s trad metal'? They've got some great stuff.

Restless and Wild and their live album Staying a Life specifically

The traddest. And no shade on Sad Wings of Destiny but it is objectively the nerdiest Priest album.

Agreed, I don't know why some fans dislike it so much. I often see it being called their "sellout" album which I don't really understand, especially when it was their previous three albums that gave them their biggest crossover hits, yeah the production is more slick and polished and the songs are a bit more simple and straightforward but it's not like they went hair metal or anything.

That didn't happen until the next album.
