Default Abyssic Hate - Suicidal Emotions

Abyssic Hate // Metal-Archives

Suicidal Emotions has been a favorite record of mine for the past 5-6 years. Long-form, drowned in static, and with some of the most melancholy riffing I've ever heard, this album is a mainstay on my 'writing mix'. Most Depressive Black Metal is a bit too angular to convey the subtleties of depression. The world isn't always black, the feeling isn't always unbearable. As someone who has struggled with depression for most of his adolescence and adulthood, Suicidal Emotions captures the lows and surprising highs of this mental state well. Slivers of melody infuse most of the songs and the drumming is crisp and played at a tempo you wouldn't expect.

Anyone into metal should give this a shot. For fans of Worship, Krohm, Woods of Desolation. Those all kinda fit - Abyssic Hate is hardly a carbon-copy of anyone I can think of.
