Default Woe - A Spell for the Death of Man

I'm many years late on this record, but better now than never!

Killer black metal (all written and performed by Chris Griggs, although the band now has more members) that ties some of the ethos of second-wave black metal with, what I'd consider to be, shoe-gaze elements, a la Alcest. A Spell for the Death of Man was released in 2008, but the style is timeless.

This has been on repeat for a better part of the week. Found a copy on Amazon for $12. Oh yeah.

First song on the record, sets the tone for what you'll be hearing throughout.
